The Different Trims of the Jeep Grand Cherokee

Okay, so you’ve decided you’re going to trade up for a brand-new Jeep Grand Cherokee! Great! Now, which one do you want? We ask because the most awarded SUV ever comes in several different trims. The Laredo, the Summit, the Overland, the Trailhawk®, the Limited, the Altitude Limited Edition, and the SRT®. All of which come with their own specific features, and also have the option to come in 4x4.

The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 293 horsepower and 260 pounds of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission on 17-inch wheels. It has a five-inch LCD screen with Uconnect and a backup camera. Like any Grand Cherokee, it seats up to five comfortably with plenty of cargo space. Its off-road capabilities can tackle an approach angle of 26 degrees and a departure angle of 24 degrees.

On the other hand, the 2017 Jeep Cherokee Summit 4x4 also has a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 295 horsepower and all of the features of the Laredo 4x4. But, the Summit 4x4’s Primary LCD screen is 8.4 inches, and along with the backup camera, it comes with automated parking sensors and a blind-spot sensor. It has 20-inch wheels compared to the Laredo’s 17-inchers, and it has better off-road capabilities than the Laredo trim with a higher approach angle and departure angle. The starting price is also higher than the Laredo.

But at the end of the day, no matter which trims you pick, whether it is the Laredo, the Summit, or any of the ones in between, your decision comes down to necessity and budget, and our financial center is here to help you.
